Better than the original NES in most departments
Not wanting to shell out all the money an NES system costs these days, but still needing a reliable replacement system, I took a gamble on this third-party console.
I'm not at all disappointed. The system does have a few minor problems, such as the difficulty of inserting a cartridge, and the occasional audio skips (these are very minor). Also, the system does not come with the ray gun (for games such as Duck Hunt), although it is pictured with that hardware.
So, here's the positive: The picture is very clear, and the system does not require a cable cord for connecting to your TV. This system is also a top-loader, similar to the more durable Nintendo Famicom that was released in Japan. This means no more blowing into the front-loading cartridge chamber to clear the dust out, and no more jiggling an already-inseted cartridge to get a clear picture or to start the game properly. Also, the controllers the system comes with have a turbo feature, which is very useful for certain games (though if you don't want to use these controllers, the system also supports the original NES controllers, ray gun, and other accessories).
And let's not forget the cost. That's the one thing that drew me to this product, and I didn't sacrifice any considerable measure of quality for it. Unless you're looking for a 3rd party system to play Super Nintendo games on as well, I'd recommend this product over the RetroDuo any day. And I certainly wouldn't be caught dead buying a used 20-year old NES for 4x the cost of this 2006 system, either.

Works great, how ever it is a bit light, so be careful when inserting and taking cartridges out. Other than that, great!

I'm very impressed with this - it has been a great replacement to our old original NES system which is constantly giving us problems (flashing screen, etc). This system works perfectly, is nice and small, and looks good. The only complaint I would have is that it is a little difficult to get the games in and out - I'm somewhat afraid that I might break it putting a game in. Other than that, it's great!
